Week 12 College Football and Week 11 NFL Opening Point Spreads – Rams 2.5 point favorites versus Kansas City

Written By Billy Attridge

With almost the entire SEC taking the week off (sarcasm), big games are limited for Week 12 of the College Football season.  However, a key game does take place in Orlando this Saturday when the Cincinnati Bearcats take on UCF and we’ve seen huge movement already.  Below are other several interesting games with the opening spreads in bold and the live number to the right.  We also take a glance at Week 11 NFL opening point spreads ahead of Monday’s Bet the Board podcast.

Notable College Football Opening Point Spreads from BetOnline.ag:

Ohio State @ Maryland (+13, +17)

Cincinnati @ UCF (-11, -7.5)

Syracuse @ Notre Dame (-10, -9.5)

West Virginia @ Oklahoma State (+5, +5)

Iowa State @ Texas (-3, -3)

Cincinnati hits the road to take on the undefeated UCF Knights, and have taken early money in the process as we’ve seen a 3.5-point line move below the key number of 10.  The Bearcats are 5-1 in conference, and this game is shaping up to be the deciding factor in the AAC East, as UCF has already beaten Temple (5-1 in conference).

* Notre Dame beat up Florida State this past week, while Syracuse played a Friday night home game against Louisville winning in convincing fashion which sent Bobby Petrino to the unemployment line.  Now these two meet in New York City on a neutral field, with the Orange looking to pull the upset.  BetOnline.ag opened the Irish -10, but we’ve seen early support for the underdog, as this number has dropped to -9.5.  Early indications are Notre Dame signal-caller Ian Book is likely to go here.

* BetOnline.ag opened the Mountaineers 5-point road favorites against the Cowboys, and that’s where it sits at time of publishing.  West Virginia is 6-1 in conference, tied for 1st place with Oklahoma (whose on deck).  Can the Cowboys bring an “A+” effort after their near upset victory against the rival Sooners as 21.5-point underdogs?

* In a pivotal NFC North game, Minnesota travels to Chicago to take on the division leading 6-3 Bears.  On the look-ahead line we saw Chicago installed 2-point favorites, but Sunday night Chicago opened at the key number of 3. Can the Vikings offensive line hold-up against this ferocious Bears front 7, who accumulated 6 sacks Sunday against the Lions.

* In a much-anticipated match-up of the two most efficient offenses in the NFL, the Rams opened anywhere from -1.5 to -2.5 for their game in Mexico City, Mexico.  This has arguably been the most anticipated regular season battle in recent years, and with the game opening under a FG, we’ll be able to see if the Rams get enough support to move to full field goal favorites.
