With the start of College Football Bowl season, we’ll feature the matchups each week every Sunday. The smaller schools are in-play, with an added bonus of Arizona State and Fresno State. Below we have the opening spreads for this weeks games in bold, and the current number to the right. We also take a look the opening lines for NFL Week 15, as well.
Notable College Football Opening Point Spreads from BetOnline.ag:
North Texas vs. Utah State (-11, -8)
Tulane vs. UL Lafayette (+3.5, +3.5)
Arizona State vs. Fresno State (-3, -4)
Eastern Michigan vs Georgia Southern (Pk, -1)
Middle Tenn State vs. Appalachian State (-7, -7)
* The Arizona State Sun Devils meet Fresno State in the New Mexico Bowl, with the Bulldogs being bet from -3 to -4 since the open. Fresno State ended the season 11-2, with a Mountain West championship under their belt. On the opposing sideline, Arizona State finished 7-5, which was somehow good enough for 2nd place in the Pac-12 South. The Sun Devils will also be without their stud wide receiver N’Keal Harry, who signed with his agent and will skip the bowl game.
Week 15 NFL Opening Spreads:
Los Angeles Chargers @ Kansas City (-3.5)
Houston @ New York Jets (+6)
Cleveland @ Denver (-4)
Miami @ Minnesota (-8)
Oakland @ Cincinnati (-3.5)
Tampa Bay @ Baltimore (-7.5)
Dallas @ Indianapolis (-3)
Detroit @ Buffalo (PICK)
Green Bay @ Chicago (-5.5)
Tennessee @ New York Giants (-2.5)
Washington @ Jacksonville (-7)
Arizona @ Atlanta (-7.5)
Seattle @ San Francisco (+6)
New England @ Pittsburgh (N/A – Ben Roethlisberger)
Philadelphia @ Los Angeles Rams (-7.5)
New Orleans @ Carolina (+7)
* In a pivotal AFC West rematch, the Chargers travel on a short week to Arrowhead stadium where the Chiefs opened 3.5-point favorites at BetOnline.ag. KC was able to convert multiple 4th downs on a late drive in the 4th quarter to tie, and eventually beat Baltimore. The Chargers grinned out a home win against Cincinnati, and now get a chance to exact revenge for their Week 1 double-digit home loss.
* In the 4:25pm afternoon slot, the New England Patriots roll into Pittsburgh for what could be a preview of an AFC playoff matchup. New England was stunned Sunday afternoon, as the Dolphins “lateralled” their way 69 yards for a game winning touchdown as time expired. The Steelers opened 2.5-point favorites after their inexcusable road loss to the Oakland Raiders, 24-21. The line has since been removed as we wait for more injury information on Roethlisberger and Conner.
