*Notre Dame opened 1.5-point road favorites for their trip to Blacksburg with playoff implications on the line for both teams. The Hokies cannot lose again, and will need some help throughout the rest of the year. Notre Dame is off their win and cover over Stanford, and Ian Book will face a tough test against Bud Foster’s defense that limited Duke’s offense to 3.9 yards per play.
*The Spartans opened up 10.5-point favorites, but money quickly showed up on the Wildcats, forcing this line into single digits. Northwestern is only 1-3 on the year, but received early respect in the market, which could be due to the Penn State look-ahead game for Michigan State the following week. Northwestern lost a heartbreaker last week at home to Michigan, 20-17.
*BetOnline.ag opened the Sooners 9-point favorites, but we’ve seen an adjustment across the market, as -7.5 (+100)/-7 is the consensus number. This game is played at the Cotton Bowl, with Texas coming in on a four game win streak, and Oklahoma remaining undefeated after a 66-33 trouncing of Baylor. Oklahoma won a tight game last year, escaping with a 29-24 victory after closing as an 9-point favorite.

* How will the Dolphins respond in Cincinnati after their poor performance in Foxboro? The Bengals, off an upset in Atlanta, opened 6-point favorites in what could be one of the pivotal early season games that carry potential playoff implications.
* Minnesota and Philadelphia will have a rematch of the NFC title game from last year, with the Eagles opening a shade below 3, at -2.5 (-125). With both teams coming off losses, neither can afford a losing start after 5 games in the very competitive NFC.
